CompTIA는 전세계 92개국 2만개 회원사와 함께 정보 통신분야의 이익을 대변하여 ICT 국제 자격증 시행 , 표준화 활동, 각종 기술 세미나 주최 등을 시행하는 비영리단체입니다.

ISO나 IEEE에 표준화를 제언하기 위한 목적으로 1982년 세계적으로 유명한 각 기업이 모여 설립하였습니다.
다양한 기술의 표준화에 관련된 활동을 하던 CompTIA 소속 기업들은 회사에서도 ISO와 같은
업무에 대한 표준화를 추진하여 각 개인의 [업무보증]을 하기 위한 기준을 개발, 인증제도를 운영하게
되었고 현재 23년간 11분야의 업무에 관한 인증을 실시하고 있습니다.
